Anita moved from California as a young girl and has been in Grand Junction ever since. She received her ADN and BSN nursing degrees from our very own Mesa State College. She earned a Masters of Nursing from University of Colorado Health Science Center and recently completed a post graduate Nursing Leadership Fellowship Program from Duke University in Durham, NC. Anita is an active member of both the American College of Nurse Midwives and the Colorado Nurses Association.

Anita has a passion for educating teens and their parents about long acting reversible contraception (LARC) and teenage pregnancy care. Her personal motto is to “surround yourself with those who see your dreams as vividly as you do” and is thrilled to be joining Monument Women’s Healthcare to offer all women, regardless of their level of risk, an amazing health experience. She joined MWHC after hearing about the great work the physicians were doing and their compassionate philosophy.

Anita is an animal lover and would be a vegetarian if she didn’t have anyone to hunt for her (or love eating meat so much). She has a particular soft spot for ostracized dog breeds and focuses on being a role model for animal ownership. She loves living in a town where she can have herds of deer, rabbits, hawks, snakes and other assorted wildlife literally living in her own backyard. When she is not delivering babies or playing with her dog, Anita enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, quilting, all forms of social media and being a host family for domestic and foreign baseball players.

Anita Sheetz is currently accepting new patients and would love to meet you.
